Born in Montreal, Canada 6/30/1896; died 4/9/1982 in New York City. Married to soprano Queena Mario (1925-1936); Rose Bampton (1937-?). Graduated from The University of Montreal, then became conductor for The Cincinnati Summer Opera, The Metropolitan Opera, The Ravinia Opera Company, and The San Francisco Opera. In Canada, he founded The Societe des Concerts Symphoniques de Montreal, and The Montreal Conservatory. He also was conductor for The French Opera.
