Married and divorced to actress Herta Ware (1934-late 1950s). Father of actress Ellen Geer. He began his acting career as a teenager on river bosts and in tent show. He returned to school to complete his education, then returned to act on Broadway, in movies, on radio and TV. Broadway debut in The Merry Wives Of Windsor. Screen debut in Misleading Lady (1932). Geer became a Backlisted performer in 1951. Geer became a gardner for other stars including Shelly Winters. Returned to acting on screen with Advise And Consent in 1962. Last movie was The Mafu Cage (1978).
