Herbert, Wilms (birth name was Victor Wilms Herbert)
Born in Chicago, Illinois 5/2/1908; died 3/5/1951 in Los Angeles, California. He was acting while still in high school, spending his summers touring with the Chautauqua and Toby shows. Later he ran a dance studio, and was a singer with the Los Angeles Opera and Light Opera companies. Several jobs followed, he was a writer for The Los Angeles Daily News, a booking agent for musical acts, and served as stage manager for The Milwaukee Opera. In 1942 he turned to radio acting.
