Manone, Wingy (birth name was Joseph Manone) Born in New Orleans, Louisiana 2/13/1900; died 7/9/1982 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Legendary jazz trumpeter with a gravelly singing voice. Manone's right arm was amputated when he was ten years old after being crushed between two street cars. Composer of In The Mood. Autobiography is, "Trumpet On The Wing."
