| Plot | : | +WXYZ, Detroit origination, The Michigan Radio Network. "Pet Bear". A flashback story, about "Brownie," a pet bear. The story was subsequently used on "The Challenge Of The Yukon" on June 28, 1947 (see cat. #64476). It was early spring in the Yukon country, Jim Green and his friend Dan Peters were returning to their homes on the outskirts of Selkirk after a successful day of hunting. Peters was carrying a small animal wrapped in a scarf that wriggled and squirmed like a cat in a bag. As they approached Jim’s cabin, Jim’s young son Bob came running to meet them… Sergeant Preston and his big lead dog King were spending the night with Joe Williams a trapper in the Yukon. As they sat before the stove after supper Preston and Joe smiled as they watched King carefully and slowly moving round Joe’s strange pet, a porcupine. Then Sergeant Preston tells Joe about his friend Lem who has a pet bear. |
