Plot | : | + "The Malamute Pup". Sergeant Preston gives the runt of a litter to Jimmy, a poor boy in Dawson who wants very much to have a dog. When the dog grows up, the boy is forced to sell Duke to raise money for his sick mother. Two bank robbers steal Duke for their own evil plans. A big bonfire was blazing in the darkness on Malamute Creek. Around the fire stood a mob of bearded hard-bitten miners they had gathered there to listen to a young man named Lou Burnett who had just climbed up on a packing box to address the group… Old Bill Craig smiled with satisfaction as he walked to the dog kennels behind his cabin with Sgt Preston of the North West Mounted Police. Bill's reputation for raising the finest Malamute dogs in the North West Territory, was one of the reasons the Mountie never failed to visit him when he was in Bill's vicinity. He opened the shed door to show the Sgt his dog Sheba's litter of pups. Poor Sheba had too many this time, and Bill is going to destroy the weakest pup, to give the strongest ones the best chance of survival. Sgt Preston asks if he can take the little one to give to Jimmy Haven, a young boy who the Sgt had promised a dog to a while back... |
