Since she had come at the beginning of a long season the entire village was under her power and had to keep her appeased for it was well known and had been proven that Ulak had only to cast her shadow on man or beast and he died. Arak, the best young hunter in the village, saw her squat figure coming toward them as he walked toward his igloo with his brother… |
