It was closing time in a small bank at Selkirk. Randy Davis, the cashier, sighed wearily as his last customer, old Luke Craig, pushed a small cart of gold dust toward him. Randy's been feeling ill all day, he's got a fever and feels like he's going to faint. Luke offers to walk him home, but somebody has got to stay in the bank overnight tonight, as there's a big shipment of gold due to leave tomorrow, and there needs to be someone at the bank to watch the place to make sure it all goes off without a hitch... |
