The Lives of Harry Lime was adapted from Graham Greene’s novel entitled “The Third Man”. The radio show also served as the prequel to the 1949 film which has the same name as the radio show. The story follows the life of Harry Lime, a con-artist that would engage in any forms of crimes in order to get big bucks in a fast way. However, Harry Lime only uses his wits to make his way out of trouble instead of using guns. It was Orson Welles who was given the title role. The radio program made the character of Harry Lime less evil than on what was portrayed in the film. The show first aired on August 3, 1951 and ended on July 25, 1952, after a total of 48 episodes.
