Norman Tokar , Dan Seymour (announcer), Jim Backus, Jackie Kelk , House Jameson, Katharine Raht, Clifford Goldsmith (writer) Mel Blanc was always a busy guy. Amongst his many credits include appearances on Abbot & Costello, Jack Benny, Point Sublime, Burns & Allen and Judy Canova. His non-radio appearances included the voices of Bugs Bunny and Porky Pig for Warner Brothers. He was born in San Francisco in 1908 and began collecting accents, dialects and characterizations in his youth. His first accent was a thick Yiddish that he picked-up from an old Jewish couple who ran a local grocery store. When his family moved to Portland he picked up a Chinese dialect and it wasn't long before he and his brother were appearing on local radio. He was a natural for his own comedy show, but never quite reached the dizzy heights of the likes of Jack Benny. Henry is feeling like the luckiest boy in town when he receives a letter from inviting him to dinner at Loretta’s unaware that it is an April Fool Joke from Agnes. |
