Arthur Godfrey and His Talent Scouts was a reality talent search hosted by Arthur Godfrey, along with George Bryan and Tony Marvin as the announcers. The show's basic format involved Godfrey sending out his talent scouts to search for people of various talents. The most common talents found were singers and comedians, which would be asked to perform before a live audience. The performer who received the loudest applause was declared winner.
The show, which was heard on CBS Radio, lasted for more than a decade. It started from July 1946, until its final episode on October 1, 1956. Its TV adaptation was broadcast simultaneously with the radio adaptation. Lipton Tea was the show's main sponsor all throughout its run. Click here to read more about Arthur Godfrey Collection
