Title | : | fibber mcgee and molly (0513) mcgees go to the carnival |
Air Date | : | 04.22.1947 |
Plot | : | + WRVR-FM, New York rebroadcast. Sponsored by: Job Lot Trading. Fibber and Molly visit the Wistful Vista carnival. The closet is heard. Syndicated rebroadcast on WRVR-FM on April 26, 1973. See cat. #42591 for network, sponsored version, but the quality is not as good. Fibber McGee & Molly was first broadcast in 1935 and ran in a variety of formats until the final broadcast in 1956. Jim and Marian Jordan played Fibber and his wife Molly in this hilarious domestic comedy. It was written and created by Don Quinn who had also written Smackout. The show made good use of running gags. Probably the best remembered is McGee’s junk-filled closet, which always crashed down on anyone that happened to open the door. Fibber is good, clean entertainment that despite being well over half a century old still has the ability to make you chuckle. |
