In 1962 there was a short-lived TV sitcom version, OUR MAN HIGGINS, starring Stanley Holloway and Audrey Totter. I've got the debut episode on DVD.

IT'S HIGGINS, SIR

My father's cousin, Marianne Turpie was married to Harry McNuaghton. Dad said that we used to get Christmas cards from them, but of course, they're long gone now. This sparked my curiosity in searching out "It Pays To Be Ignorant" episodes. This sustaining sitcom was an interesting discovery! Neat to haer Harry playing something other than a befuddled nincompoop for a change!
