The Adventures of Maisie, or Maisie for short, was a comedy radio series that starred Ann Sothern as the title character Maisie, a secretary from Brooklyn. Her character, and the show in general, was a spin-off from the highly-successful Maisie film series.
This radio series is based on the MGM movie series of ten films (1939-1947), both starring Ann Sothern. This situation comedy was transcribed and syndicated from 1949 to 1953 featuring Sothern as Maisie Revere, a Brooklyn beauty and Jane-of-all trades.
The series debuted on CBS Radio on July 5, 1945. It was initially heard every Thursday nights, until it was moved to its Wednesday evening schedule two months after it started. A year later, it again had its new timeslot, which was late night Fridays. It remained in CBS until March 28, 1947, before it switched networks.
