Ozzie and Harriet, or The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet, was a family sitcom launched on CBS Radio on October 8, 1944. It starred a real-life family, the Nelsons, who consisted of Ozzie and his wife Harriet, and their kids David and Eric. Although the show was never in the top ten list of best radio shows, it was able to attract many listeners.

After the Red Skelton was planned in 1944, Ozzie became motivated to start his own family sitcom. During the first few years of the show, the role of Ozzie's sons David and Eric were played by professional actors, since both were not allowed to work due to their age. Nevertheless, five years after its premiere, when the show moved to NBC, the real David and Eric entered the show.

Months later after its move to NBC, on October 14, the show moved again to NBC Blue and remained there until its last episode on June 18, 1954. In total, the series had 402 episodes.

I listened to them on radio when I was small and watched them on tv later. I liked them but they were a little too proper and sanitized for my taste. No mother wears high heels and pearls to cook and clean in the kitchen and no father wears a dress shirt and tie sitting at home reading the paper. Hard to believe they're all gone now.

This is a great family situation comedy, which was broadcast by CBS, NBC and ABC from 1944 to 1954. From 1944 to 1949, the Nelson children, David and Ricky were played by Tommy Bernard and Henry Blair. Afterwards, David and Ricky took over their roles. The Nelsons made one movie, called Here Come The Nelsons in 1952, and the comedy was on television from 1952 to 1966, with the whole family reprising their roles.
