Lillian Randolph (as "Birdie") joins announcer John Wald in a Parkay commercial. It’s the first week of January and everyone is busy reading in the Gildersleeve household but Gildy is going over his bills. He decides it’s time to have a talk with the family to see where they can save, as they can’t live on his salary anymore. Gildy reads an ad in a magazine about becoming a successful writer after thirteen lessons and of a woman who earned six hundred dollars. He decides to see if he can make the grade as a writer. |
