Gildy reads a touching Christmas story to the kids in the Summerfield Hospital, "Why The Chimes Rang," by Raymond MacDonald Alden. A good show! When the great Gildersleeve discovers that Clarence has bought Katherine a present he decides he will have to go one better to impress her and in doing so he discovers the true spirit of kindness and giving at Christmas. Gildy wants to get Nurse Kathryn Milford a present to outdo Dr Olsen after she tells Gildy that she can’t wait to open the Doctors present as he always thinks of the most original thing. Gildy is desperate to think of something original and finally realises in the true spirit of Christmas that a gift must be from the heart without any ulterior motive. |
