Judy's been invited to a society party and Lord Chumly is going to attend. Judy appears in the "ultimate" hillbilly skit. Journalist Erskine Johnson presents an award to Judy because, "She keeps it clean." The recording includes a closing station break, a commercial for "California" (a movie) and the start of, "Grand Ole Opry." The program opening is very slightly upcut. From Hollywood the Judy Canova Show brought to you each week by Colgate Palmolive stars Mel Blanc, Ruby Dandridge, Mel Blanc, Joe Kearns, Sharon Douglas, The Sportsmen quartet, Charles Dant and his orchestra and starring Judy Canova who opens the show with a song. Mrs Prootwhistle, the social leader of Brentwood is planning a swank party at her home for Lord Reginald Connelly. Judy hasn’t been invited because Mrs Prootwhistle’s social secretary feels that Judy’s manners aren’t what they should be… At the end of the show Judy is presented with the 1946 Award of Achievement for consistently maintaining high standards of comedy on the air and in the movies during the past year. |
