Mrs. Stewart disppears to Zurich the day after she meets Frank Race. Violence follows. Many things were changed during the war the face of the earth was altered and the people of the earth changed. Before the war Frank Race was an attorney but he traded his law books for the cloak and dagger of the OSS. And when it was over his former life was over too. Adventure had become his business. Hillary Stewart approaches Frank Race for help with a personal problem. It was a matter of half a million dollars insurance. She is 26 years old was married eight years ago and her husband had been missing seven. After seven years a person can be assumed dead. Hillary wanted Race to investigate that her husband had not been murdered so that she could collect the insurance. |
