The announcer twice mentions that this is "broadcast #35." A holiday spent by radio in a police car. "A slice of actual life." The above date is accurate (the program is about the fourth of July holiday). The program number is possibly #32, despite what the announcer says, unless there is a three week error in the relationship of the program numbers and dates. After the drama, Mr. Lindsley announces that "there were thirty-four characters (in the radio drama)...played by twelve people," and unlike other programs, names them all. 4th July 1934 A Scene From A Police Radio Car is a broadcast of true incidents which all occurred on the 4th July.

Two corrections to your posted info for this show: 1) The title is "July 4th IN a radio car," not "July 4th IS a radio car." A typo? 2) This one is more complicated to explain: While you theorize that the announced program number -- "Broadcast 35" -- is wrong and the date -- July 4 -- is correct, the opposite is pretty clearly true. While the announcer DOES say that the events depicted TOOK PLACE on July 4, it surely took some time for them to put the script together and and then voice the segments. Thus, it very likely aired weeks later -- most logically three weeks, as that would make the program number correct.
