Every year hundreds of thousands of dollars are lost by department stores large and small, lost through the activities of shoplifters. Every store maintains its protective force, its detectives but still the losses mount. In the end the thieves are caught but the stolen goods have passed through the hands of the offender’s in to the possession of perfectly decent citizens who are susceptible to bargains. Betty Page and her boyfriend Jacky Benson worked in this racket. Here is the story of one of their operations. |
