After the drama, Nancy Coleman says that it's society's fault that the good parents in the story entered a life of crime. The date above is the date of the first broadcast on WMGM, New York, from which this syndicated version may have been taken. Out of the hills of West Virginia across the border in to Ohio rolled Lucy Minden with Dody and their young child Geoff, but 10 miles beyond the point where they left two policemen lying in the road they stopped the car and made their first swap. On they went using only the back ropads and staying away from towns and cities of any size. For gas and cash and food they held up small filling stations and stores. They slept in their car and left behind them a trail of stolen automobiles and riffled cash boxes and ahead of them, always ahead of them was the clicking of the tiller type in the police station… |
