Spoiler : As to Lee's comment Radio tells its stories in word pictures. Imagination, along with the words and sounds and action give the images we later grew so used to with Dragnet. If it's not your cup of tea so be it. But if you give it a chance you may find it is very good. The generations after mine (I was born about the time many of these episodes were made - 1951) have seen rapid and revolutionary developments in audio, video and presentations. I think the way to listen to Dragnet is the way the old timers did. In a semi darkened maybe find you one of the modern Crosley old timey looking receivers with USB MP3 input so the "radio" playing the episodes looks a lot like the receivers they listened to 70 years ago.
