A seismograph in a museum leads to a murderer and a stolen Egyptian scarab. + Tony’s sister was afraid of a rocking chair that had belonged to an old lady who sometimes came back and rocked the chair. Sinisterly every time the chair rocked somebody died. Investigating the old house in which the ancient rocking chair started rocking without any cause or reason Nick Carter runs in to a complicated set of circumstances. Eric Trumble is painting a portrait of the captain’s beautiful young wife much against the captain’s wishes and Maria Eric’s Italian housekeeper is scared of both the rocking chair and the quick-tempered captain.
