| Plot | : | + Program #36. ZIV Syndication. "The Million Dollar Murder Case". Mr. Simmons is a wealthy old man. He's built a high wall around his property. An "electric eye" and a gun adds to his sense of security. Of course, he is soon found murdered. A deaf butler and a dissatisfied secretary indicate a possible "inside job." The cops catch the killer, but Vance disagrees with the identity of the culprit. He explains the case implausibly, with a rented helicopter! The Million Dollar Murder Case opened with the finding of the body of Ezra Simmons much disliked recluse despite all of Simmons’s efforts to protect him self. Suspects include his secretary Betty Jonas and caretaker Harold Heckner who Philo Vance has discovered is stone deaf. At noon of the day following the murder |Joseph Hargraves, Simmons’s lawyer arrived at the mansion to read the will. |
