Phyllis Coe ("Phyl-Coe"), solves a murder case on each show. She reveals who the killer is, but not how she discovered who the guilty one was. The listener obtains an entry blank at Philco dealers and submits his theory as to why Phyl Coe accused the killer of his crime. $50,000 in prizes are awarded to those listeners who solve the most "mysteries." To win the prize, you had to pick up a book of clues at the local Philco radio dealer. A clever idea! Phyllis finds the killer of the magician. Bud Collyer portrays her boyfriend and sidekick. Even though the series was syndicated, the programs were supposed to start at the same approximate date for each station. Known starting dates range from September 6, 1937 to September 9, 1937. |
