Plot | : | + "Mr. Walker's Problem". Sponsored by: Camels (anti-cigarette tax commercial). Mr. Walker, a plumber, hires Diamond for $300 for three days, and promptly gets himself killed. Why? Dick Powell sings, "September Song" after solving the case. The plot is stolen from, "The Red-Headed League," solved by Sherlock Holmes. Thomas Walker has a case for Richard Diamond and he hopes that is nothing more than his suspicious mind. He doesn’t want to bring it to the attention of the authorities, as he is afraid they’ll laugh at him. Mr Walker wants Diamond to shadow Joseph Carter who he believes is the ringleader. He doesn’t think he should tell Diamond what his suspicions are as he would like him to shadow Carter and discover them for himself. Walker gives Diamond $300 to cover his fees until Monday but for Mr Walker Monday was just 2 days too many when he is murdered later that afternoon. |
