Sam is hired by a beautiful lady to find her stolen $100,000 necklace before her husband finds out that it is missing. This of course leads to a corpse in the Murphy bed! Mrs. George Overjord contacted Sam Spade from the hotel where she was staying and invited him to come on over to discuss her hiring him. Her husband gave her the money to insure her $30000 necklace but she didn’t so the necklace isn’t insured and has gone missing, stolen by a hotel thief. She wants Spade to recover the necklace before her husband puts in a claim and discovers it isn’t insured. |
