| Plot | : | + "The Red Amapola Caper". A rehearsal recording or unedited tape, for broadcast May 21, 1950. No music cues are heard. A story of murder and a Mexican "vengaza"...revenge! The program closing has been deleted. At 3pm the day before, Spade had returned to his office and found a Mexican girl waiting, wearing clothes that had seen better days. Her name was Andreas Rios and she wanted to hire him but she only had $38. She took him to her father who spoke no English to find out more. She wanted Spade to spend the night with her father in order to be able to testify to his whereabouts that night. But what was about to happen that night why did Rios need Spade as an alibi? Andrea Rios sought to employ Sam Spade for 24 hours to spend the night with her father as an alibi for something, which is going to happen that night. It seemed pretty straightforward but as Spade accepted the work shots were fired in through the window hitting Andrea in the side. As Spade went to call the police and returned to the room he found Andrea still there but her father, Armando had gone to avenge his daughter… |
