Plot | : | + This Is Your FBI. January 26, 1951. Program #303. "The Continental Killer". Sponsored by: The Equitable Life Assurance Society. A policewoman is used to trap a killer who was previously deported but who has snuck back into the country on a freighter. The system cue has been deleted. “Shortly after the turn of the century the then small city of Los Angeles California made an experiment in law enforcement which has since been copied by local police throughout the country. At that time the Los Angeles police appointed a girl by the name of Alice Wells to its force and gave her the right of policewoman. She was the first of her sex ever to serve in any police department but the obvious advantages of the move and the work she did caused other cities to follow until now there are thousands in every one of our 48 states. Tonight’s case is brought to you from the filed of the Federal Bureau of Investigation because it tells of the exploits of one of these women who have made law enforcement their profession; a woman assigned to track down a dangerous hoodlum.” |
