Spoiler : Out of the detective shows, “Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar” is my favorite. Bob Bailey is, in my opinion, the best Johnny Dollar. Although, I’ve only heard the Edmond O’Brien and most recently Mandel Kramer. I know Kramer was the last to play Dollar. The Kramer episodes I am not a fan of. He did ok as Dollar, but I wasn’t thrilled with the change of the show. It seemed liked the episode was rushed, to fit it into a 30 minute time slot. Also, the half dozen episodes I listened to of him, didn’t even have him doing detective work to see if an insurance claim is to be paid out or to prevent one from being paid out.

Spoiler : Johnny Dollar is a great series. Actually I llike Edmond more myself. Bailey is a bit too much of a ham in my opinion.

Spoiler : I've done an informal analysis of what I think makes Bailey so popular. I think it's the way he inflects his voice. He uses his baritone to pitch downward and extend the vowels toward the end of a sentence. But, I'm no expert.
