The first against Douglas Lanfear’s life policy for $250,000 and the other was for $150,00 against National Maritime Organization for the loss of the Lanfear yacht. Lanfear was making a trip along the coast of Central America in his yacht, the Sea Legs when he ran on to a rock, the boat sank and he and his crew of one went down with her. The Insurance underwriters were suspicious as two and a half years ago Lanfear himself put in a claim with International Maritime for $85,000. It seems he lost a power cruiser in exactly the same place near the Buldaro Islands off the coast of Nicaragua, a place where none of the wreckage could be salvaged. |
