Comedy about the newspaper business and one reporter's efforts to get married and free himself from his editor's clutches. + This is the story of a good newspaperman Hildy Johnson who wanted to get married and go to New York and of his tyrannical and resourceful managing editor Walter Burns who wanted him to stay being a newspaperman and of other reported matters pertaining to the case including a guy who was to get hanged in the morning… Pat O'Brien and Adolphe Menjou play the same leading roles that they took in the 1931 film which was nominated as best production of the year for the 1931 academy award. Menjou was also nominated as best actor of the year for his part in the film. |
