The National Industrial Council (a front for the National Association of Manufacturers) presented a thinly veiled anti Roosevelt and anti New Deal propaganda program call The American Family Robinson. Newspaper editor Luke Robinson was in a perfect spot to see how the “socialist” New Deal policies were sending America down the tubes, and the program gave him plenty of opportunity to praise the virtues of lower taxes and less industrial regulation.
