Dr. Lee De Forest's invention of the "audion" and the "wireless telephone" is dramatized on the thirty-fourth anniversary of the radio-telephone. Frank Butler (De Forest's assistant) is interviewed by Graham McNamee, Lee De Forest speaks from Los Angeles. Fascinating listening even though the De Forest segment takes some liberties with historical facts. An announcement is made that all radio stations "above seventy-two on the dial" will soon be moved to a new frequency! |
