+ The CBS Radio Workshop was an experimental dramatic radio anthology series that aired on CBS from January 27, 1956, until September 22, 1957. Subtitled “radio’s distinguished series to man’s imagination,” it was a revival of the earlier Columbia Workshop, broadcast by CBS from 1936 to 1943, and it used some of the same writers and directors employed on the earlier series. This program was a revival of the old Columbia Workshop that was broadcast from from 1936 to 1942. Only this series featured experimental dramas. It was broadcast from January 27, 1956 to September 22, 1957. "This is the CBS Radio Workshop...dedicated to man's imagination...the theater of the mind! " The series featured many Hollywood radio actors includng William Conrad; Parley Baer; Lurene Tuttle; Jack Kruschen; Joseph Kearns; Vic Perrin; Sam Edwards; Gloria Henry; Charlotte Lawrence. Later the program was produced in New York. Producer was William Froug. Directors were William M Robson; Jack Johnstone; Dee Englebach; Elliott Lewis; Anthony Ellis.

Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, himself very much the stuff of legend, was both an historic French aviator as well as a gifted novelist.
