The name of the show is a little misleading, because - as far as I can tell - it seems to entirely feature romantic comedies; about 30 minutes each. One unique feature: The cast is the same for each story! But, you don't really notice this, since they play different roles, and have versatile voices. You can easily skip the first 90 seconds of each episode: they are all nearly identical (i.e., the announcer pretending to be at a Broadway-ish theater, where the story will be performed; PS: according to another website, this announcer is actually Mike Wallace, who would later be a famed TV news reporter and 60 Minutes co-host). The commercials are not deleted, including mid-way. The sponsor is the Mars candy company. So, if you binge the episodes of this program, the ads might get a little tiresome, after a while.

There were a lot of shows like this, where the characters changed every show, but the actors were the same. Then there were shows like the Lone Ranger. The Lone Ranger and Tonto were the same every show. Three or four other actors played different characters every week. In a pinch Brace and Todd did extra characters as well.

Mars made a big push to reintroduce its Mars Bar as a flagship confection for the company when it sponsored both Doctor I.Q. and Curtain Time.
The long-running kids' quiz program Doctor IQ was the companion to Curtain Time for Mars of the mid-1940s. Mars had sponsored Doctor IQ for so long that it created a new candy bar to mark the series' success.
The last new confection promoted by Mars over Curtain Time was its new Ping Bar, featuring milk chocolate and cocoanut nougat.
