Peter Blood is accused of treason and is exiled to the Spanish Main, where he escapes and becomes Captain Blood, a notorious pirate. Intermission guests are Charles Courtney (an expert safe-cracker, billed as the "world's greatest locksmith") and Douglas MacLean (intermission guest: silent movie actor and producer). + Starring Erroll Flynn and Olivia Dehaviland the story of Captain Blood is set in England in the year 1685 when James the Second ascended the throne and many of the common people of England rose in angry protest only to be beaten into submission by the king’s soldiers. Those rebels who survived the royal butchery were led to another certain death, a trial by jury in Taunton Castle. Among the five prisoners on trial is Peter Blood young Irish physician. |
