DeMille...in a haunted house! This is the first time DeMille played a dramatic role on The Lux Radio Theatre. The next time would be November 10, 1941 ("Hold Back The Dawn," see cat. #43384). Intermission guest Efrem Zimbalist plays, + Jack Benny and Mary Livingstone lead us in to paths of peril and adventure. Laughs, chills, crooks, treasure, a damsel in distress and a mad hermit are only part of what Jack Benny encounters in this grand comedy mystery play by George M. Cohan adapted from the novel by Earl Derr Biggers. Also as special guest is the world-renowned violinist Efrem Zimbalist. |
