An uneducated prize fighter and a society woman fall in love and marry, both knowing that there are few similarities in their worlds. A well-done boxing/romance story. The story is based on the life of boxer King Cole. + Written by Mark Jerome Invitation To Happiness was made in to a Paramount picture in 1939 starring Fred MacMurray as fighter Albert 'King' Cole and now he plays the same role for Lux Radio Theater. It is a tenderly human story about a prizefighter and involves the woman who loved him, the son who hated him and emotions that were too strong even for a strong man who lived by his fists. |
