But anyone who’s ever been to the altar knows that their life story just begins there. In Lux’s play tonight Made For Each Other they skip the courtship and tell the best part of the story, the married life of two healthy average young Americans. Since Jane and Johnny are so typically American their story is more than a love story it’s the drama of America in 1940 because the home of Johnny and Jane multiplied some million times is America. Carole Lombard plays the role of Jane the same part as she did in the 1939 David O. Selznick picture written by Jo Swerling. Made For Each Other was a David O’Selznick 1939 screen hit. It is the touching story of a young married couple who face their problems with courage and humor. Two average Americans played by two talented engaging stars, James Stewart and Marsha Hunt with Stewart reprising his original screen role. |
