| Plot | : | +NBC net, KUOW-FM, Seattle rebroadcast. "The Short, Happy Life Of Francis Macomber". An American comes to grips with his fear of death and his vicious wife while big game hunting in Africa. Some of the closing cast credits deleted. The story was subsequently used on "The NBC University Theatre" on June 5, 1949. Francis Macomber and his wife Margot are in Kenya on safari. Francis sees a lion and shoots at him several times. His wife stays in the car while he and his safari manager Wilson move slowly in to the long grass toward the wounded lion to make the kill. Francis is feeling scared and as they approached the wounded animal and the animal was ready to pounce Francis turned and ran leaving Wilson to kill the lion.
