Plot | : | + This recording might be an AFRS rebroadcast. "Kansas City is no place to get off a train, unless you're a sack of mail!" An altar boy named "Little Jake" has been shot in a church. What's in the sealed envelope that's been forced onto Pete? Radio doesn't get much better than this! This one’s about Pete Kelly. It’s about the world he goes around in. It’s about the big music, the big troubles and the big twenties. So when they ask you tell them this one’s about the blues, Pete Kelly’s blues… It’s just after midnight on a hot night when the kid, Little Jake walks in and tells Pete Kelly that Father Cronin wants him to call by St Timothy’s tomorrow morning after nine o’clock to see him. Then two heavies call in to the nightclub and put an envelope in Kelly’s inside pocket and tell him not to open it and to wait until 6:00pm when he’d be the first to find out what it was. However at the church that morning Kelly is shot at and ambushed for the envelope and Little Jake is killed. |
