Title | : | plays for americans (20) adolf & mrs runyon |
Air Date | : | 06.21.1942 |
Plot | : | + "Adolf and Mrs. Runyon". A fascinating wartime premise. A woman driving on the Boston Post Road picks up Adolf Hitler, who's hitch-hiking back to Brechtesgarten! Hans Conried is superb as Hitler. Announced as the twentieth and final program in the series by Arch Oboler (there were apparently two more programs in the series, not twenty-six). The system cue has been deleted. + Mary Runyon, an American just saw her husband off on a train on his way to an army camp and was so unhappy she started to think about Adolf Hitler and the misery he’s brought to her and she cried out to God and here she was in America confronted by Adolf Hitler. Arch Oboler speaks at the end of the story. |
