+ The Silver Theater was by far International Silver's most ambitious undertaking, but this must be tempered by the fact that International Silver was a $20,000,000 company in 1937 with subsidiaries throughout the entire civilized world. One glance at the spot ads from the era (left) gives some indication of what it must have cost to mount each of The Silver Theater's nine seasons comprising 232 dramatic programs between 1937 and 1947. This, in addition to another 23 contemporary variety programs under it's 1941 Silver Theater Summer Show, hosted by no less than journalist Ed Sullivan of American Television fame. International Silver of Canada, Ltd., also mounted a summer program of their own in 1941, titled The Silver Theatre Summer Show, over the CBC, although the Canadian production bore little resemblance to its American counterpart during the same summer season Click here to read more about Silver Theater, The
