His back was broken but no one was willing to remove him from the track (his fellow jockeys eventually did). No ambulance was available and track officials refused to pay for one. His fellow jockeys got together (barely) enough money for a taxi to take Sandy to the hospital. He died soon after. The system cue has been deleted. |
