Title | : | guest howard duff |
Air Date | : | 12.10.1950 |
Plot | : | + First item: Mickey Rooney is divorcing his third wife. Hedda asks, "Who cares?" She then queries, "Who decided to go into Korea when we couldn't win?" Eric Johnson discusses American trade and the motion picture industry. The interview sounds like poorly edited tape. Carmen Miranda sings, "Yipee Yi Yo" in a samba rhythm, and "Cuanta La Gusta." Howard Duff talks about violence in the movies. Hedda misreads a line and Howard cracks up. He then reads "Jack and The Beanstalk" as if it were made into a violent movie. Ida Lupino and Keefe Brasselle do a scene from, "Young Lovers" (which is truly insipid). Hedda's essay is about the ninth anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor, and today's "forces of evil." It's interesting to note that both Howard Duff and Ida Lupino appear on this program. They were married the following year. The program is also known as, "The Hedda Hopper Show." |
