Cesar Romero brings his mother onto the program, in honor of Mother's Day. Also appearing is Gary Cooper's mother, Bing Crosby's mother, Dorothy Lamour's mother, John Howard's mother, Lou Costello's mother, Helen Mack's mother, Tom Brown's mother, Marguerite Churchill's mother. They're all members of "The Motion Pictures Mother's Club." They present an award to Hedda. Charles Durand and Guy Briand sing, "Be My Love" (which starts off-mike) and a medley from "Guys and Dolls." Paulette Goddard is going to star in a play on Broadway. George Burns and Gracie Allen prepare for Hedda's Mother's Day interview. The last show of the season. Hedda's final essay is a warning to, "Watch carefully for Communists." |
