Title | : | father coughlin (x) not anti semitism, but anti communism |
Air Date | : | 12.04.1938 |
Plot | : | +Father Coughlin network, WHBI, Newark, New Jersey aircheck. "Not-Anti-Semitism, But Anti-Communism". The broadcast originates from the Shrine Of The Little Flower, Royal Oak, Michigan. Father Coughlin seems surprised at the negative reaction generated by his comments about "Athiestic Jews." His critics are "dodging the issues" with "controlled editorials" in the "managed" press. He uses a Detroit Free Press story about an interview with Henry Ford, as an example of "a new low in editorial responsibility." Father Coughlin maintains that Mr. Ford, "does not believe Jews are suited to work in factories." The first Russian revolution was a failure due to the dominance of the "athiestic Jews." "International bankers" in general, Kuhn, Loeb and Company in particular, are exposed. A British "white paper" is quoted to prove the point. Father Coughlin also quotes U. S. documents showing that "American and Russian Jewery will stand together, backing the revolution." These Jews were aided by the U. S. Secretary of State! Sixty-five to seventy percent of the officials in the Communist government are Jewish! Father Coughlin cannot understand why the American Jewish Congress will not condemn Communism. |
