Lauritz Melchior serenades his wife, as he did twenty-five years ago, when she parachuted into his life. Nobel Prize winner (Dr. Hideki Yukawa) appears. He discovered the sub-atomic particle, the Meson. From Haverford, Pennsylvania, eighty-seven year old Amos Alonzo Stagg (famous football coach) is heard. His son, Amos Alonzo Stagg Jr. is also heard (by transcription). Lewis Gross, a man in jail for seventeen years, appears on the show to tell his story. He had just been released from a life sentence, through the efforts of Erle Stanley Gardner and Argosy Magazine's "Court Of Last Resort." Stanley Fritz and "The Korn Kobblers" tell how they were arrested for "making noise" and play, "Pony Boy." Lauritz Melchior joins them in, "Home On The Range." The Newark Star Ledger has presented the program an award as "Outstanding Human Interest program Of 1949." The program has also been dated January 26, 1949. |
